Like life, fashion is full of rules. But some rules are meant to be broken. So think of these as guidelines to help you put together a perfect outfit.
BLACK AND BLUE SHOULDN`T BE WORN TOGETHER
Black and darker blues are so close in colour, they can look similar. People can tell the difference between black and navy when they`re being worn together and it`s not a great look. But a silk top in bright cobalt blue teamed with tailored black pants is a stylish look perfect for the office or a night out.
LONG DRESSES AREN`T FOR SHORT WOMEN
If you are shorter, pick a maxi dress made in a light fabric to avoid bulk. It should not drag on the ground. Choose dresses that have detailing around the neck as it will make you look longer. And wear it with a pair of wedges and your hair up so you can see your neck, and you`ve got an outfit that works!
SEQUINS ARE JUST FOR NIGHT
A jewelled mini isn`t appropriatr for the office or a day in the park, but sequins shouldn`t be banned completely - they should be worn subtly. A T-shirt or cardigan with a few sequins down the front teamed with a nice pair of well fitted jeans and ballet flats is a great way to make a simple outfit sparkle.
