Ever tried a smoothie.. In a bowl??
Well it`s about time you did!
Smoothie bowls are delicious, healthy, and packed full of vital nutrients to kick start your day. They are the new breakfast craze and are rapidly becoming more and more popular.
They are so simple and easy to make - all you need is a blender! (and your ingredients, of course.)
Here is one that I made this morning. For the smoothie base, I usually use frozen fruits such as berries and blend them with fresh bananas and some form of liquid (coconut water, rice milk etc). For this one I used:
-A handful of frozen strawberries
-One large banana
-Some almond milk (add until you are happy with the consistency)
For the toppings (my favourite part) I used:
-Handful of oat/raisin mix
-Some dried coconut flakes
Best of all, you can choose whichever ingredients you`d like to make it your own. Pineapple and mango are also very tasty instead of berries. This breakfast meal contains a healthy balance of vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein, carbs and natural fruit sugar, what better way to start the day!?
