They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For multiple reasons, it starts/wakes up your metabolism from a sleeping state so that you can burn more calories in the day; it keeps you from over eating at your other meals; it sets the mood for the day; etc etc!
However, not all breakfasts are made equally! For example, a breakfast with some fruit and protein is better than one with artificial/added sugar and grease. Protein helps keep you feeling fuller for longer so it`s important to get some type of protein in your breakfast so you don`t end up mid-day snacking before lunch!
With that being said... I admit, I almost never eat breakfast just because I wake up late sometimes or I don`t feel hungry so I don`t feel the need for breakfast, although I know I should just nibble on something just to wake up my stomach u.u
However, I`ve been making an effort to eat more breakfasts, even if they`re small.
Recently, one of my favorite breakfasts is Chobani Greek Yogurt with Honey Bunches of Oats cereal.
Another reason I don`t eat breakfast is because the "easiest" breakfast food is cereal, but I just really dislike cereal! Even as a kid I disliked eating it, even the sugary/kid-targeted cereals. I`m not quite sure why, but I just dislike it, and still do. The only cereal that I like to eat is Honey Bunches of Oats, but even then I don`t like to eat it with milk. I eat it straight from the bag. Freshman year of college I discovered this because I bought a box to bring to campus in an attempt to make myself eat more breakfast. I didn`t touch the box for the first few months, and actually only started eating it because I needed a snack to help get me through studying and I was hooked! This cereal is kind of like corn flakes, with some granola mixed in and a hint of honey taste. I think the granola is what got me, I LOVE granola! haha.
I was eating Vanilla Chobani Yogurt the other day for breakfast, but I don`t really like plain (without fruit) Greek Yogurt because of the texture (when I have fruit, the fruit hides it). I didn`t have fruits though, but I had a box of Honey Bunches of Oats that I just bought, so I decided to put it on top. SO GOOD. I think it`s because of the granola in the cereal that makes it such a good match because yogurt and granola are made to go together :D Also, honey is a good accompaniment to yogurt usually, so that aspect of the cereal definitely helped.
As you can see, I was doing some homework while eating the breakfast haha.
Do you guys eat yogurt? If you do, how do you eat it (plain, with fruit, with granola, something else)?
