I just finished reading Michael Ondaatje`s book called The Cat`s Table. I would highly recommend reading this book. It`s strange because if you know anything about Michael Ondaatje then you would see so many different similarities to the main character in the book.
Basically in the book it follows a group of three boys as they travel on a ship to England. It`s a book about innocence and the magical adventure that they experience. I keep thinking about the simplicity of the book. It`s not an extravagant book about the subject matter but from their eyes it becomes more then our adult eyes would see.
I found it to be a gentle adventure but believed the whole story without having to be too distanced from it. It was just sweet and beautiful and a nice story about youth that I would recommend reading.
