So, I`ve been on this Bollywood film lately after having watched several pieces. Now, I am sure everyone is not a fan of subtitles, but let me disabuse the notion that all are flighty musicals.
If you`ve seen Slumdog Millionaire, however, you can see the draw of such movies.
Jodhaa Akbar is an epic historical film based on Mughal Emperor Jalal and his wife Jodhaa who taught him how to be a better ruler, and in so doing so, a better man. It`s long, as most Bollywood movies seem to be, topping out at 3 and a half hours, but I was engrossed in every minute. Having fallen together in an arranged match, the two, from two very different religions and backgrounds, should have never been able to fall in love. Yet, they do. It is timed well and easy going in the process so you are not disappointed and feeling like, "well I knew that would happen".
If anyone else has seen this film, I`d love to see what your views are, and if you haven`t, I truly recommend that you see it!
