I definitely don`t enjoy the weather in the Midwest this time of year. However, with my brother living in Austin, Texas, I do get the perks of going down south for a visit a few times during the year. One of my favorite times to go has to be crawfish season! Nothing like a good old crawfish boil with the family in good weather!
We get our crawfish boil recipe from our family members in Louisiana, because they know how to do it best It`s honestly quite easy, the hard part is waiting for it to be ready to eat.
All you need a is very large boiling pot and the following ingredients:
- 30-40lbs of live crawfish
- Crawfish Boil Seasoning (which can be found in any grocery store down south)
- Smoked Sausages
- Red Potatoes
Fill the large pot a little more than halfway with water and squeeze the lemon halves into the water. Boiled the crawfish on high for 3 minutes. Then add the rest of the ingredients to the pot and continue to boil for about 10-15 minutes. Monitor the heat so the water doesn`t boil over.
After that, set out a large table and serve!
