on a cake making spree!! haha This i made for m landlord, we went over to her house the other day (which is ridiculously beautiful! I`s a one story because her husband has a bad back but it`s got a spectacular layout two walk in closets and a spectacular kitchen, I was in love). but we went to go help her clean up her koi pond in her back yard, it`s not like a normal sized koi pond either, she has one that takes up almost all of her back yard it`s got a three tier waterfall! I was so jealous!!! Anyways so I recently made these Brooklyn blackout cupcakes they were really good, plus I added my own twist to them by putting in two tablespoons of rose water, it was wonderful, so I decided to try the same thing for her cake, Brooklyn blackout chocolate cake with rose water, and i did a two layer cake by taking my original cake (my cake pan is huge so it would have been too flat) and just cutting two rectangles out of it to make the two layers, I then made some blueberry filling (following the recipe for the strawberry topping of my cheesecakes again with my own secret ingredient) and put that between the two layers of cake. Then I iced the cake and added some decorations to it! I had just recently made some gumpaste roses, and tried my first calla lily flowers out of my mini heart cookie cutter. :) Turned out decently well if you ask me :) Everybody said the cake tasted great! :D
Have you ever had a brooklyn blackout cake? Have you baked it before? or played with rose water before? do you know what other desserts rose water could work well in?
