**Crappy picture by me...of course.**
Hey, everyone. I`ve been busy with work lately so I haven`t had much to blog about until now. I recently bought Bite Beauty`s Spring Cleaning Trio from Sephora. Bite Beauty is a Canadian natural cosmetics brand that uses fruit butters, essential oils, extracts, and food grade colors so they`re safer to ingest. All of their products contain Resveratrol, an antioxidant found in red wine that helps prevent signs of aging. Bite Beauty is more lip-focused, but its founder is also behind the natural Sula brand where you`ll find your conventional eye shadows, lipsticks, blushes, and the like.
Today I`ll be reviewing Bite Beauty`s Spring Cleaning Trio - a three-step process to softer, healthier lips. My lips tend to get dry no matter what I do. I drink plenty of water throughout the day and I religiously use my EOS balms. I even made a homemade sugar scrub once. It only gave me temporary results. My lips were back to their old selves in a couple of days. At this rate I was willing to try anything.
I found Bite Beauty on Sephora`s YouTube channel. There are a few videos that explain the brand`s motive and some of their products. I was drawn to the colors and the deep pigments in the lipsticks and lip pencils, but finding out that the company uses natural ingredients convinced me the most. You can buy Bite Beauty at freestanding Sephora stores. I just have a Sephora inside of my local JCPenney, and it`s quite small. Since Bite Beauty isn`t as big as Urban Decay and Make Up For Ever, I thought I would have better luck on their website - and I did. After clicking through the pages and reading the reviews, I put a few lipsticks and glosses in my shopping list and bought the Spring Cleaning Trio. In this set you get the Whipped Cherry Fruit Scrub ($18 separately), the Superfruit Butter in Pomegranate ($18) and the Sheer Balm in Creme ($19). If you bought all three of these separately, it would cost you $55. This set is only $28 so you`ll save some money! Plus all three items are full size. It`s a good way to try something from a brand you`re not familiar with.
The Whipped Cherry Scrub looks exactly like whipped cherry cream. The cream base has a delicious cherry scent and contains jojoba beads to gently exfoliate your lips. I applied this to my lips and rubbed it in, then left it on for about a minute before wiping it off. I noticed that the surface of my lips looked better already and felt softer. Then I applied the Superfruit Butter. It`s supposed to be pomegranate, but there`s no flavor and the smell is like Play-Doh. Luckily, the clay scent doesn`t linger when you apply this on your lips. My lips felt so smooth and moisturized. I couldn`t stop rubbing them together! I even applied it before bed last night and woke up with softer-feeling lips. A small amount is all you need for both the butter and the scrub, so you`re getting your money`s worth if you plan to buy them separately. The results are excellent for the price, as well. Lastly, the Sheer Balm was nice. It has SPF 15 and feels wonderful when I apply it. The creme color didn`t show up on my lips at all, but I`ll use it anyway. It`s very moisturizing. Luckily, the Sheer Balm comes in seven more shades that are more pigmented. I plan to try them out soon.
This was a nice introduction to the Bite Beauty line. The scrub, lip butter, and SPF balm performed well and now I have smooth lips! I feel more comfortable wearing lip colors now. I thought about trying the Fresh line at first, but I may be sticking to Bite Beauty for a while. Their Luminous Creme lipstick set and Pigmented Lip Pencils may be future purchases. I already have a few colors picked out.
If you want to try Bite Beauty for yourself, go with the value sets like the Spring Cleaning Trio. If you`re fortunate to have a freestanding Sephora store in your area, drop by and sample the products in person.
Have you heard of this brand? If you haven`t, would you try it?
