January 11th was my little cousin`s, Trisha, 1st birthday. Of course we always make first birthdays a little special, so it was held at a restaurant and everyone int he family was invited.
You never know until you plan one, but parties can get quite expensive. Little things start adding up and the next thing you know you`re spending a few hundred dollars on things you could of saved on.
On of the expenses my aunt wanted to save on was the cake. Of course we ordered a delicious cake from a local bakery, but to add on decorations they wanted an extra $100, which is a bit much. So we ordered a plain cake with just "Happy Birthday Trisha" written on it. Then, I went over to Party City (just a party store) and picked up a few things to add to the cake to make it fit the theme. So instead of paying the extra $100 for the Minnie Mouse decorations from the bakery, I spent under $15 for these for the cake.
Everything turned out really well and the cake turned out amazing!
