Well time to start up another tour of North Carolina. This time of famous buildings of North Carolina. but this tour may go a little slowly this time as i`ll be a little busy today.
MY 1st stop on Must see buildings of North Carolina brings us to the most famous Privately Owned Mansion in the entire USA. The Baltimore Estate. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, it is a 175,000 square feet (roughly 16,300 m2) Mansion with 250 rooms and is still owned by the descendants of the people who built it back in the 1880`s. It boasts and extremely large indoor pool, a bowling alley, a 2 story library, rooms filed with rare art work, and rare furniture from around the world. The house today is probably the most famous house museum in the US and is highlights a "If these Walls could Talk" tour where several auto emplacements tell you about the history of the building and the surrounding area. Outside the building itself is an 8,000 acre landscaping with beautiful gardens, and several other buildings including a garage which use to house the family`s cars, servants quarters, a Horse barn, and a winery which happens to still produce wine and is the most famous North Carolina wine. The winery does allow for tasting the wine and you can even purchase some if you so choose. Just please wait till after you get home to drink it. The Estate is now a National Historic Landmark and is thus now under the care of the feral government. So if you`re looking for a grand building to tour with the family then the Biltmore Estate is a place you can`t skip.
