A few weeks ago, I posted about the new Dior Travel Palette and how useless it was as it did not contain any mascara, eyeliner and the bronzer was one set shade.
This reminded me of one of my favorite brands, Shu Uemura, and their travel palette. I actually wanted to pick up one over the weekend, however, Shu Uemura at Holt Renfrew stopped selling them. On the site last week, they did have a promotion on when you spend over $65, you get this palette as a gift. A very good deal, considering the palette itself was $55.
Overall, I found this palette to be more useful than the Dior one because it has an eyeliner brush and cream liner.
As you can tell from the photo, the eyeshadow colors they provided are much more neutral and can work to make a day office look or an evening smokey eye. The packaging is also similar to my Reindeer palette in that it`s very compact, unlike the Dior one. The blush I still have a problem with because not a lot of people may want to use that specific color or would look good in that specific color. The highlighter was also a bit problematic if you don`t really fit that color as well. I found the highlighter to be too creamy as it is the same one I have in the Reindeer palette. But it doubles as an eyeshadow base which is more useful.
Overall, this would make an ideal starter palette for plane travel even though it does not have a mascara. Reason being, I`ve tried doing mascara on a plane and it was hellish hard!
At least with these colors, you could have a decent look that you can easily customize.
Hope that helps!
