Okay maybe the above Jumper is a little extreme for most of us to try. But jumping rope is one of the best exercises you can do.
Among the benefits include:
1) You lose a lot of calories when you do it regularly at a good pace. You can lose up to 900 calories per hour depending on your pace. It develops muscles on the lower and upper body, and helps with cardio, stamina, coordination, balance and rhythm.
2. Said to prevent Osteoporosis. Why? Jumping is suppose to increase bone density in adolescents and prevent deterioration in adults.
3. Speculation here, but it helps works the brain improving brain function. As you`re keeping track of both sides of the body to work in rhythm.
4. Easy to learn, inexpensive and portable! They`re less than $5. Or back in the old days just put together a whole bunch of rubber bands!
