I discovered the Benefit creaseless cream shadows almost 2 years ago and have loved them ever since. they come in a variety of shades. some matte others shimmery, very pigmented, soft, buttery and they don`t budge on my oily eyelids at all, unlike mac`s paint pots which slip right off the second I put them on. anyways, maybelline released these new cream shadows, color tattoos and they`ve been widely compared to mac paint pots. I can only speak for the products I have, I am not sure how different the maybelline & mac are from shade to shade but I know all my benefit ones are essentially the same.
Benefit & Maybelline are super smooth, soft to the touch, easy to pick up out of the pot with a brush or finger. they don`t feel gritty or dry. this particular Mac paint pot was a definitely more dry and even a little rough on application but it`s possibly because it`s a matte shade.
I can say all of these are very pigmented, you can easily build up the intensity although I think it would take more to build up this Maybelline shade as opposed to Mac & Benefit.
Benefit does not crease on me at all, no matter how long I wear it. this Mac paint pot creased on me after about 45 mins, it lost all color right on the crease. Maybelline did not crease on me either.
how do they compare?
I am not a big fan of Mac paint pots, in fact I hate them. I have tried to lay them over 3 different kinds of primers, super thin layers, lid only, over concealer & powder, they just crease on me, therefore, I can`t say that Maybelline is a dupe for paint pots. that being said, I think Maybelline is right up there with my Benefit creaseless cream shadows which are my babies as you all know. I actually really like this shade, it`s somewhere between busy signal and rsvp, I think it`s awesome on itself as a very illuminating wash of color for those "simple" looks. I`m thinking I`ll pick some up for my teenager since it will just make her life a little easier in the mornings lol
