I haven`t found beef sashimi in Toronto before, until now.
When we went for the All you can eat Japanese restaurant, they actually served beef sashimi as part of the menu. My boyfriend ate 2 plates of it, he loves beef sashimi.
I would assume beef sashimi would be the same taste and texture as medium-rare beef except sliced very thinly and the meat is more fresh as only the outer rim is cooked a bit.
It was sliced so thin that the meat was translucent red! They had a nice gravy added to the bottom of the plate to season the beef sashimi but my boyfriend dipped it into wasabi anyways.
Since I can`t eat raw meat, I couldn`t try it out, but it looked pretty good =) He said it was not bad. The beef was very fresh. He said it tasted something similar to cold marinated steak but much juicier and smoother.
Have you guys tried beef sashimi?
