Beauty Awards: Best of 2012

For me I made better purchases in terms of beauty products in 2012. In 2011, I made quite a few wasteful purchases and bought a lot of hyped up products knowing that I would probably not get much use out of it. However this year was better! These are my favourite products of the year.

Best Foundation = MAC Face and Body
It`s a nice and light product which evens out my skin tone and that is all I really want from my foundation. I use concealers and correctors to actually cover up areas.

Best Tinted Moisturiser = Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser
I don`t actually own this yet, but I did get a sample of this. It gives more coverage than the MAC F&B but still remains to look natural and doesn`t give the impression of a lot of makeup.

Best Concealer/corrector = Bobbi Brown Corrector
I have hideous browny, purple-ly under eye circles! Both my sleeping routine and inheritance are to blame for these bad boys. Every concealer I have used in the past makes that area look grey, but this actually corrects the colour of the area.

Best Bronzer = Benefit Hoola Bronzer
I have quite a medium skin tone and don`t really want to darken it. The only reason why I would use bronzer is to contour my cheekbones, the colour of this allows me to contour my cheekbones and look very natural.

Best Powder = Laura Mercier Mineral Powder
When I bought this I was so cautious and worried that I wasn`t going to like it.I have been using this as an everyday face product over the past few months, and it`s safe to say I am in love with it. It doesn`t completely mattify my oily skin but still prevents it from looking shiny.

Best Highlighter = Elizabeth Arden Pure finish highlighter- Rose Illumination
This came out with their 2012 Spring and Summer collection and it is absolutely gorgeous! The highlighter is rose gold, which is quite unusual for a highlighter. Also I have a new love for highlighters.

Best Blusher = Avon True Colour in Russet
It`s somewhere between a brick red and coral colour and I just love it! It has a matte finish, is highly pigmented and blends well.

Best Eye Primer = NARS Smudge-proof Eye shadow Base
Without this I can guarantee that all my eye makeup will no longer be visible after about an hour.
Best Eye shadow = MAC Woodwinked Eye shadow
This was really hard for me because I am a huge eye shadow lover, but always fall in love with this every time I wear this.

Best Eye Pencil = Topshop Eye Pencil in Saddle
High pigmented and it`s bronze!

Best Mascara = Revlon Photoready 3D mascara
Last year I fell in love with the Benefit Theyre real, but I haven`t repurchased since I ran out of it. I bought this after it came out in the UK. I was positively surprised because it actually worked for me and not very many mascaras work for my eyelashes.

Best Lipstick = Barry M 152
Im not a huge Lip product person, but I really like the colour and consistency of this.

Best Lipgloss = No7 Poppy King Lipgloss
I really disliked lipgloss until my beautiful mother bought this for me. I don`t really favour the No7 lip glosses but the ones in this range seem quite nice and this is a lovely colour for my skin tone. Plus the consistency of the product isn`t sticky at all.
