For years I have struggled with something that plagues many, especially us curly girls. For years and years I`ve been on the search for the perfect hair products, and after months of using these, I`d say I`ve found them.
First would be the Bumble and Bumble quenching Shampoo and Conditioner. Their curly line is great too, but I absolutely love their quenching conditioner! It leaves your hair feeling replenished and looking great after the shower, no matter how dry or damaged your hair is; these are my miracle products. Although they are definitely expensive at $32 for 8.5 ounces, I feel that having good hair instantly ups your look and brings out the best in any outfit.
If looking for some more affordable options, I`d recommend the Organix line, which is available at Walgreens and many other drugstores. Although it doesn`t quite have the same effects, it still does make my hair look nice and less frizzy. I`d especially recommend the coconut oil one, but then again I love the smell of coconuts so I might be a tad bias. I also love the Ouidad moisture lock shampoo and conditioner, although these are only ten dollars cheaper than the Bumble and Bumble shampoo, so it`s not as affordable as the Organix products, which are around $7.
As far as leave-in conditioners go, I love the TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost Leave-in conditioner. It retains the moisture throughout the entire day (with a little help from some gel) and eradicates frizz from my hair. Although it`s $16.49 and is definitely pricy, a little bit goes a long way and it lasts for a couple months, if not wasted. I have thick, curly, crazy curls (which are straightened in my picture) that go to about the middle of my back. For me, all I need is one pump, which I then rub through my hands and then run my hands through my hair, starting at the ends and working my way up. If looking for a more affordable option, Organix sells Renewing Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil, which works great and is only about $8.
The last essential I think every girl, especially us curly girls need, is a great gel or mousse. I personally prefer gel to mousse, as mousse always makes my hair so dry, while gel just locks in the moisture of the leave-in conditioner I used. My absolute favorite gel would be the Ouidad Climate Control gel, which really does live up to its name. Regardless of the weather, this gel protects my hair and prevents it from turing into a giant frizz ball. Unlike many gels that I`ve tried, this gel does not feel goopy or heavy in your hair, but instead is formulated to coincide with your natural curl pattern but eliminate frizz. I absolutely love this gel, but if you have straight hair the $22 for 8.5 ounces is not worth it. You can also get a huge 33 ounce bottle for $56.10 if looking to be more economical. I wouldn`t recommend it to all those straight haired ladies out there because Ouidad is a brand specifically formulated for curly hair. If you have curly hair though, I really recommend checking out that website. In addition to great products, they also have some really great tips. You can get this gel both online at their website, at some salons, and at Sephora. I`m very picky on gels and can`t think of one that I would even recommend except for this one, but I do like the Aussie Catch the Wave mousse because it`s not as drying as both, controls my curls, and smells amazing!
I hope this will help those looking for a solution to the frizz which plagues us all! Have a great day :)
