Chinese/Vietnamese New Year is just around the corner.. only 3 more days and everyone in my family is cleaning, going grocery shopping, preparing for the new year..
One must have for tet has got to be banh chung, it`s a vietnamese steamed cake that you can buy at the asian market or order from a restaurant. My family actually ordered this at a home run restaurant for only $12! It`s loaded with meat compared to other places [we actually bought 5 because you`re supposed to give away some to family too]
Even though this is a must buy, I am not a fan of banh chung. You typically eat banh chung with sugar.
What`s in the Vietnamese Steamed Cake?
[Ingredients may vary depending how you want to prepare banh chung though]
Have you ever tried banh chung? What did you think after trying it out? If you never have, would you try it?
Want to learn how to make banh chung?
