I`ve had my fair share (and by fair, I mean fairly huge collection) of band t-shirts and a few months ago I got rid of a lot of them. In a way, I had outgrown them. Will I ever stop loving Senses Fail? No. But does their now-faded and old t-shirt still deserve a coveted spot in my wardrobe? Probably not... so I tossed a number of shirts. Plus, t-shirts can be awkward, sometimes. They`re super comfy and awesome, but a whole wardrobe full of t-shirts screams `boring.` Time to make room for more stylish and classy clothing. Recently, though, I feel as if my t-shirt collection has again been growing...
I went to a concert on Saturday at downtown Orlando and saw Minus the Bear, a truly unique and awesome band (quite different from my Senses Fail and The Used days, haha). After the intimate show, my friend and I headed to the merch table. He bought a beer koozie and I bought a t-shirt. It`s simple: light grey with a single print image and the band name. Good for wearing around the house or looking `bummy` in if I go out. What happened to me though was something I didn`t expect. I fell in love with t-shirts again.
Call it stupid or crazy, but it`s like I have rediscovered the wonders of Disney World or something equally magical. I think it comes down to truly knowing my style and body more now than I did back in the day when I went to punk shows on the daily. I appreciate a good-fitting t-shirt now more than ever before. Yes, it`s that simple. I have fallen in love with good, quality t-shirts. No, I won`t let them take over my entire wardrobe, but they will certainly have their own spot :)
