You all may have noticed that I have been away for a few weeks. That`s because I spent the majority of my summer travelling!
I was lucky enough to take a big trip visiting Indonesia, Australia and Armenia (with a layover or 2 in Dubai as well!).
The first part of my trip was visiting Bali with my sister for a few days. We didn`t have too much time there, but we were still able to see and do some great things.
We were able to visit to the Ubud Monkey forest where we fed some wild monkeys bananas. We also went parasailing in Nusa Dua beach which was amazing! And of course, we went to the famous temples at Uluwatu and Tanah Lot. At Uluwatu, we were even able to see a traditional `fire dance` by sunset.
But my post right now is about some food! Indonesians love their fried noodles, and I felt like we were offered it at every meal, including breakfast. The dish I ate right here is an example of a typical Balinese meal with the vegetable fried rice topped with an egg. It also came with some chicken satay skewers that were delicious! But my favourite part of the meal, which was the most unusual, but surprisingly tasty was the fried spinach leaves at the top. The batter used to fry them was a little bit spicy and had a nutty flavour as well. Definitely something I have never had before, but it was delicious!
All in all, my first stop in Bali was short but sweet. Definitely a great place to consider visiting...
