Baking Soda Deodorant! SAY WHAT?
Okay here`s the thing, I have stinky armpits. Usually suffer from this during the summertime, spring, even the winter (although in the winter it doesn`t stink, I just sweat). ATTRACTIVE RIGHT?... But anyways I`ve been through a decent amount of drugstore deodorants and honestly cannot bring myself to fork up $20 for a high end deodorant. I started out with Secret (their pear scented one?) and so on... primrose, vanilla, sheer mineral floral... They worked at masking the smell and somewhat stopping the sweat... but when I did start sweating they gave off this deodorant-y chemically made floral scent. You know what I`m talking about. Deodorant smell is not even that pleasant. I find the Dove pomegranate one is actually pretty decent and the smell is not too strong... but I just hate deodorant. They also ruin your shirts! I have this BEAUTIFUL white shirt that has nasty pit stains now because of deodorant. This is because they have aluminum in them. SO recently I decided to give good old baking soda a try. And I`m impressed!
No, baking soda does not stop you from sweating... but it does mask the smell wonderfully without giving you nasty stains or giving off some chemically sharp scent.
All I do... is literally dump a little bit of baking soda onto my palm, run a little bit of water on it so it diffuses throughout evenly and apply on my armpits. It works! (Some people also use cornstarch) But anyways... give it a try, you can even add some lemon in there for a citrus-y clean feel.
I`m going to do a post later on all the wonders of baking soda!
