Went to a Hong Kong cafe to eat because I was craving for some Western Chinese Fusion and I decided to order a Bacon and Cheese Rice Casserole.
I`m glad that the restaurant I went to actually used fresh rice in the casserole rather than fried rice because fried rice is made with leftover rice. And I`m not a big fan of fried rice unless its kimchi fried rice.
It was not bad actually, though a bit salty because of the cheese and bacon =)
They used a mix of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, giving it both a mild and savory flavor. The bacon was really good with the cheese and when you eat it with the plain rice, the flavors really come together. It was very filling though, due to the saltiness as well as the cheese, hence I was only able to eat 1/3 of it. They gave me a really big portion.
Normally, I`ve only had this dish in pasta form, but with rice, it actually tastes pretty good as well.
Have you guys tried this?
