Hey Luuuuxers, so about a month ago I posted a fabric haul for a quilt I was making for a friends baby shower. She`s having her first baby in a couple weeks and the shower was a few days ago. I asked her his nursery colors and she told atomic orange, navy blue and also added that the little unborn guy likes bright green. So I based my colors on that. I make these quilts really close to crib size around 45"x60". The front side is a handmade non pattern that I came up with, so I pretty much do what I want. For the back I use a solid fleece (this one is atomic orange/neon red) and I use the front fabrics as a border. And for the finishing touch, I add a license plate with the baby`s name and some cute little embroidery designs with my embroidery machine.
The quilt was a definite hit and she loved it. These quilts are my new baby shower gifts, they are just so personal and I hope they keep them for a long time to come. And I don`t wrap them, I just use fabric ribbon and tie a bow around it, like the last image but I hadn`t put the bow on yet. Hopefully one day I can get some orders for these guys in the future!
