Recently I made my first hair care purchase at Aveda. Ive been using these for a couple weeks now so I have an idea now on how much I like these. When I first walked into Aveda I was just going to buy some hand cream since that was the only Aveda product Ive ever tried but the sales girl asked if I wanted a hair consultation so I said sure. So she asked me a bunch of questions about my hair and then suggested like 7 products. I decided to go with the first 3 that are considered the in shower products. (the other products were the after shower products) I told her my roots are oily and my ends are dry and its color treated and I use heat.
The first product is the Scalp Benefits Balancing Shampoo which is $15.50 for 8.5 fl oz. This is a great shampoo - it cleanses my roots and is gentle on the rest of my hair. It definitely makes it feel clean and gets rid of product build up. I would repurchase this.
The next product is the Scalp Benefits Balancing Conditioner which is $15.50 for 6.7 fl oz. Even though this is scalp benefits I would use this on my hair from my ears down, only because conditioner on my roots just make my hair oiler that much faster. This is a good conditioner - it moisturized my ends but I dont think it was the $15.50 for such a small amount.
The last product is the Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment which is $31 for 4.2 fl oz (yikes!) This is ok. It is a good deep conditioner that I use once a week. The girl said she would have the best hair days after using this..yeah I wouldnt get that lol Compared to the Natural Macadamia Deep Repair, this wasnt that great. And with this you only get such a small amount for the same price! Dont buy this and get the Macadamia one instead! Even though this was just ok, that one works much better!
Overall I would just repurchase the shampoo. This is my first time using Aveda hair care but I definitely want to try more products. Im thinking maybe the Invati line which is supposed to make your hair thicker.
Have you tried these products? Have you ever tried anything from Aveda?
