I have quite a bit of makeup that doesn`t get enough attention, so for fall I am bringing some shadows from the back of the drawers and pushing it to the front so, hopefully, it will get more use. With fall nearly here, it just makes sense that I try to get more use out of the darker colors or ones that I tend to only wear (or mostly) in the cooler months. These are some of those.
Some of my absolute favorite affordable eyeshadows are by Wet n Wild. They`re finally starting to get the attention they deserve. They blow a lot of brands out of the water (even some brands that are significantly more expensive). I have three here that I will be focusing more attention on. First is the Knock On Wood trio. I ADORE the eyelid color (bottom shade) Fall is really the only time that I feel I can pull off maroon eyeshadows. Second is the Comfort Zone 8 pan palette. This one has beautiful greens, browns, and even taupe. This one definitely hasn`t gotten enough love from me. Finally is one of my all time favorite palettes: Vanity 6 pan palette. I will wear these colors year round but recently I haven`t been pulling it out, which is why I have included it here. It is getting pushed forward for use.
Next are three Ulta brand shadows. Starting at the left and working to the right are Verdigris, Safari, and Terra Cotta. When I bought these I LOVED them and for some reason they just didn`t get used much. They`ve been sitting around neglected for too long. The cooler weather has me excited to wear these. They remind me of fallen leaves and pumpkin patches. :-)
The next two are in palettes. The top palette is a clinique palette and the bottom one is a NYX palette. The Clinique is Plum Seduction. Even though the second from the right is a lighter purple, it works well with the other three to create a darker purple eye that pairs nicely for fall. The NYX one contains the colors Golden, Rust, and Walnut Bronze. Golden isn`t too unique but is beautiful. Rust is, again, a color I feel I can only pull off in the fall. Walnut Bronze isn`t too dark but does create a beautiful fall look when paired with the other two colors in this trio OR with matte browns/tans.
Next, is an ever popular L`Oreal Infallible shadow. I didn`t wear this one much at all over the summer. It is in the color Bronzed Taupe. There is a BEAUTIFUL green one that is out that I want to get but haven`t yet. I love the formulation on all of these. They`re smooth and easy to work with.
This next one is another popular shadow. It is a Maybelline Color Tattoo in the color Bad To The Bronze. I love this one (but like the rest listed here) it hasn`t gotten enough love. I was wearing the lighter shades during the summer. This will be lovely on its own and as as base for some of the other shadows shown in this post.
The final shadow is new and hasn`t been worn at all yet, save for swatching. it is a Maybelline Eyestudio in the color Sinful Sinnamon. (yes, spelled that way). I bought this one for a dollar but chose the colors specifically for fall. I thought these could be beautiful in the coming months.
I would love to know what colors you will be wearing as the weather gets colder. Perhaps you, too, have some shadows that have been neglected that need to be pulled out this season.
