Who doesn`t love sushi or sashimi? But sometimes it can be super expensive, especially if your dining out and not having all you can eat!
There are stores which you can buy sashimi grade fish and make your own Japanese feast at home! There is a place in Toronto called Diana`s Seafood on Lawrence, which is where my parents bought one slab of red tuna and two slabs of salmon. All together, the fish cost $30 CDN...think about it, if you were eating out for 4 people, would $30 CDN feed all of you, considering how much sashimi we had?
So we do things a little untraditional in my house and we kind of make our own sushi...kinda like making a handwrap! Basically we have the individually packaged snack seaweed, sliced avocado, sliced cucumbers, sushi rice and sashimi (both red tuna and salmon). You take a piece of snack seaweed and put sushi rice and then a piece of sashimi and then avocado or cumcumber and use your chopsticks to hold everything together like a taco! But this was honestly so yummy! Three pieces of sashimi was good enough for 4 people, alongside all the other extra stuff as well!
Have you tried making your own sashimi and sushi at home? Do you like sashimi and sushi?
