I was luckily given this tin of assorted cookies from my mom to try. They were given to her from my relative who just came back from a visit to Hong Kong.
It`s a assortment of cookies supposedly with 4 different flavors. The names the have given these cookies are ... Flower, Coffee, Shortbread and Raisin Oat. They were made in Hong Kong by Jenny Bakery. I believe these are made fresh and packaged to sell by the owner herself instead of having them made in big factories that mass produce them.
This is a big selling point for me because this tells me that they are fresh and a one of a kind.
In regards to the flavor, I think that the Flower and Shortbread ones taste the same, like shortbread cookie. The difference I think is the shape as you can see some of the cookies look like flowers because they are piped with a star tip before baking. The shortbread one just look like regular round shaped cookies. And also the flower one is a tad softer.
The coffee one does have a hint of coffee to them and those are my favorite.
My least favorite would be the raisin oat because I`m not a huge fan of raisin and oat. I do wish there were more coffee flavored ones.
But I still do love these cookies. It`s like they melt in your mouth and are so buttery tasting, in a good way.
So if you happen to be in Hong Kong , you might want to check out this bakery.
She has bakeries in Sheung Wan and Tsim Sha Tsui.
