These deserts are popular in South East Asia. They are eaten during times of celebration and happiness. Basically they are the Asian version of sweets/deserts. They are extremely sweet and do have a high calorie and sugar content. So if your diabetic, then I`d stay away from these!!
There are many types to choose from. Some have a drier texture and are rich in taste, whilst others are set in a sugary syrup and are much more moist inside. I personally find that some taste like icing sugar but with more flavour lol.
These can be found in specialist sweet store and Asian grocery stores. Prices normally range from £3 to £5 per small tub.
