I was born and raised in New Jersey. A few months ago, my boyfriend got a promotion in Arkansas and asked me to move with him. We have been together for 4 years. I was nervous that I would stand out, with my dark hair, and thick accent. Now that I have been here for 5 months I have to say it is a lot better than I expected it to be.
Conway is the city of colleges. There are 3 different colleges in this town. It is 25-30 minutes outside of Little Rock. It is a dry county where there are no liquor stores, but you can get a drink out don`t worry!
This city has been on the rise. It is developing more and more. This city has so much to offer. A southern charm, and city like feel. The only thing that is missing is a mall. Other than that this city has it all.
Arkansas is the natural state. Everything compared to Jersey it different. The driving, people, landscapes, everything! I am getting used to it, and although I like it, I will never let go of my Jersey roots!
One interesting thing I recently found out was that there is this town in Arkansas which is the only diamond mine in the world that is open to the public. It is 2.5 hours from where I live, but I think my boyfriend and I will check it out this spring!
Have you ever been to Arkansas? What do you think about it?
