A few months ago there was a debate whether Apple would go prepaid or not but now it`s official, you will be able to purchase an Apple iPhone and month to month plan without the hassle of those contracts" starting June 22 however without contract means the phone will of course cost more.
What company provider is selling Apple iPhones? Cricket will be. They are also offering a much cheaper plan too! For $55 bucks month to month you get unlimited voice, text and data plan. [However in fine print it`s not really unlimited data but 2.3GB a month which is more than what Verizon`s data offers so not bad but it is a catch so I wouldn`t get on this offer until a month later to see if there are any hidden charges or any complaints about service and what not]. However downside with Cricket is the coverage-- it may not be available for everyone.
The down side? Price of the phone!
iPhone 4 - 8GB is $400
iPhone 4S - 16GB is $500
What do you think of Apple going Prepaid? Is that a good deal - will it be a problem for other service providers? I think it`s a good deal cause AT&T and other services make you get a plan for 2 years and if you cancel you get charged a hefty fee! I am going to look into this for my dad- he really wants a iPhone but I have to see how it works for national calls and what not.
