Apple Crisp-Esque Dessert

I had been watching a video by Marlena from Makeupgeek and she was talking about a dessert she makes where she takes apples and sprinkles cinnamon and sugars over the top. It instantly made me want to make something along those lines. Instead of just sprinkling sugars, though, I wanted to make a crisp-esque topping for it.

I took 4 granny smith apples, peeled them, cored them, and cut them up into slices. They went into a lightly buttered baking dish. In a separate bowl I combined some sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. One that was mixed I cut in some butter. That was then blobbed across the tops of the apples. The dish went into a 350 degree oven for about 35 minutes.

Oh man, it was delicious! My son, who doesn`t like baked fruits for dessert actually loved this. It had the perfect amount of tartness from the green apples but the topping was the perfect complimentary flavor for that.

I didn`t have any ice cream in the house, but that would be very good to serve along side of this.
