Apple is the latest tech firm to join opposition for a proposed import ban of the Xbox 360s in the US. A potential US Xbox 360 ban has now been opposed by Apple, the latest in a growing number of technology firms that includes Activision, Nokia, Intel, HP and Cisco to back Microsoft in its patent claim with Motorola.
The firms have asked the International Trade Commission not to rule in Motorola`s favour.
Microsoft says that the patents Motorola claims it infringed - for secure wireless communication and video transmission between controllers and consoles - are available with `fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory terms` (FRAND) under the license patents.
At the end of May a Judge agreed with the suggested action that 4GB and 250GB Xbox 360s consoles could face an import and sales ban - although the recommendation has yet to be finalised.
