Hi everyone! Every time I visit Target I usually make a beeline for the beauty department. Target generally sells cosmetics for a few dollars cheaper than the drugstores and they also sometimes have a pretty nice collection of goodies on clearance. There are a couple Targets in my area that don`t have a clearance cosmetics section though, so it`s just a matter of remembering which Targets do and hoping you get lucky.
On this particular trip, my boyfriend and I were visiting Target to grab basic items and of course I had to stop by the cosmetics department. That`s where I saw these Almay eyeshadow palettes on clearance for $2.84! These palettes were almost $10 originally, so this was a pretty big steal. I heard Emily from the BeautyBroadcast on YouTube say she liked these, and I was intrigued by the colors, but Almay isn`t a brand I go out of my way for, even when it`s on sale at the drugstore.
The two palettes I picked up are:
>> Exhilarate: cream colored primer, shimmery white, shimmery plum and shimmery taupe
>> Invigorate: white colored primer, shimmery champagne, shimmery charcoal, shimmery purple
What I found intriguing about the palettes is they come with a primer (left side of the palette), which would be great for traveling and on the go application. I did put these in my car as part of my `fast` makeup bag and used the included primer, but it ended up creasing on one of my eyes. This primer would probably work better if you had drier lids than I do. The eyeshadows themselves are not overly pigmented, so you can build up the intensity a little. I like using the shimmery shades by themselves to give my eyes a little pick me up if I don`t have time for a full look, and I apply those with just my fingers.
I`m not sure if these are being discontinued or repackaged as they weren`t on clearance at any of the drugstores during their Winter Beauty Clearance.
Thanks for reading! Have you tried these products before? What do you think of them?
