When Rutgers announced their departure from the Big East Conference some were skeptical about the move. Well, Rutgers is not the only school saying goodbye to the conference. Recently, seven Catholic schools that do not play FBS football are leaving the Big East: DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, St. Johns, Providence, Seton Hall and Villanova. These powerhouse basketball schools are considering better options to improve revenue streams and exposure for their programs. Though it is still unclear if any of the schools would join existing conferences or form a new one but they are looking into new opportunities.
