This past weekend I brought my girls to take a look at the 20th Annual Gingerbread Village that was being displayed in the lobby of the Downtown Seattle Sheraton Hotel. This was the first time I have ever been, but it was a spectacular display of gingerbread creations! Each house was created by Seattles top architecture firms and the Sheratons culinary team. I wanted to share a couple of my favorite pieces of art!
1 and 2: The theme for this year is Once upon a time. Beauty and the Beast was such a huge display! The Castle looked like it was sitting on top of a chocolate cake. There were even a group of angry villagers at the beginning of the bridge.
3: The Little Mermaid. I will they had more information about what they used to make these because its almost hard to believe it is all edible! I love how they made Ariels cave with all her collections.
4: I dont remember what this was but it was a huge castle with so much detail. Take a look at that tower of Life Savers!
5: This one was Alice in Wonderland and it was also my favorite. It had all the characters all over the Queens castle. And on the left side of the tower (not pictured because I couldnt fit it in) was a tunnel with Alice inside of it and the white rabbit standing on top on the tunnel.
Like I mentioned, this was my first time but this defiantly will not be the last. Have you ever made a gingerbread house yourself? I tried one year and totally failed. It is a lot harder than it looks which is probably why I was so mesmerized with these.
