The Ann Taylor Perfect Pumps (MSRP $155) have received a lot of hype in the blogosphere because they are said to be a great dupe for the Christian Louboutin Simple 85 pumps (MSRP $625).
Although they don`t have the signature, bright red sole of the Louboutins, at a price point of a $470 difference, it`s a small detail I`m willing to overlook. The AT Perfect pumps are a great option for those who want the sleek, sophisticated design of the CL Simple pumps without having to spend a small fortune.
I was lucky enough to pick up 2 pairs of the Perfect pumps on sale online a few weeks ago (currently on sale as of now too). I chose the Whip Snake Print Perfect pumps in bronze and the black patent leather Perfect pumps.
The shoes are constructed of genuine leather - not only the upper part of the shoes, but also the lining and bottom of the soles as well. The covered 3 1/4" heel height is perfect for everyday wear too. The rounded almond toe is very flattering, but the vamp is a bit low on these so there is quite a bit of toe cleavage shown.
I bought these in a size 7, my normal size for heels. As for the fit, these run a bit wide and long, so they`re a little loose on me, especially since I have narrow feet. There is a bit of a gap at the back of my heels, so the shoes keep slipping off when I walk. However, this can be easily solved with a shoe insert.
I just have to say that I love these shoes! I normally don`t spend more than $50 on pumps, but these were worth every penny. The footbed has more padding than my cheaper pumps, so these are very comfortable to wear. They are well constructed, durable, and made of high quality materials. I know I`m going to definitely get a lot of uses out of these two pairs of pumps!
