My nephew just turned one on the first of this month. And his big bash was an airplane theme party. My sister had so much fun planning out his party and did a great job carrying the theme from the invitations to the party give-away. I wish I had taken pictures of every little detail, but here are a couple of pictures I did take that gives you an idea of the decorations. The cake: this is from the same bakery as my mothers day http://www.luuux.com/design/flower-pot-cake?blog_id=27002 Pilot Treats table: this table featured a ton of different treats. You could help yourself with a mini bag and will it with trail mix, pretzels, pop corn, licorice, m&ms, gold fish crackers, mini chocolate candy bars or rainbow rice crispy treats. The smash cake: Apparently this cake is for the celebrant to stick his tiny little hands in and taste. This is the first I ever heard of kids doingbut it was cute. It was a yellow plane with a funny little baby head peaking out on top. Then of course there were tons of cupcakes all around both cakes. The give-away: Displayed in cute blue and red luggage were the give-away for the kids, crayons in the shape of an airplane. There were inflatable airplanes on the tables as a center piece. The invitations: they were made to look like airline tickets. I believe all of the paper items like the invites, banner and cupcake toppers were purchased through a seller on Etsy. Not pictured is the paper plane folding station for the kids, pin the propeller on the plane game, pilot fish piñata, and the sign in poster. I loved the overall design of the party and how everything was cohesive with the airplane theme.
