Ahava Compact Powder

If you`ve read my previous posts on Ahava`s Light Foundation and Ahava`s Rich Foundation, then you may have noticed my after photos include Ahava`s Compact Powder.

For the past few years I have been setting my liquid foundation with Neutrogena`s Healthy Skin Loose Powder in Medium, but I think this might be discontinued because I cannot find it in stores anymore, and I can barely find it online either (yet again, Neutrogena is ruining my go-to products).

When PR sent me this compact powder I was extremely curious how a pressed mineral powder would perform. I`ve used mineral powders in the past and they felt so heavy and made my skin look cakey. Whatever Ahava is doing to make their makeup feel so lightweight, look so glowing and last for so many hours just to end up making your skin look even better after 8hrs of wear - they need to keep this up and make even more products!!! They have turned me into a loyal consumer! This is very rare as I`m super picky about my face makeup products. For them to be fantastic enough to change my tastes means a whole lot!

Ahava`s Compact Powder is pressed and lightly tinted. I have worn this on its own many times and I love how it evens out my skin tone, melts into my skin to make it look glowy and it lasts hours upon hours without fading. I always throw this into my purse in case I need to touch up - and surprise, surprise, I never need a touch up. This has been my go-to finishing powder for the past couple months now and I can`t stop raving about it! It might seem pricey at $28.00, but a product - especially a powder product - that I only need to apply once and I can forget about it all day and night, seems well worth the bucks to me.

I would call this compact powder as sheer to low coverage, but you can actually build this up to a medium coverage if you needed to. To achieve a medium coverage, I apply a layer of this powder all over my face, let it melt in for a good few minutes, return and apply another layer - I`m not sure if you can build this up to full coverage because after that second layer I never feel like I need more.

Personally I use my Sonia Kashuk Powder Brush to apply this as a finishing powder on top of my liquid foundation, but when I use this compact powder alone, I use a short handled kabuki brush to buff it into my skin.

Tinted by minerals and contains no oils, allows for long-lasting color that strays true all day
