As a part of my recent hair series, I thought I would include a post about MY hair! For the most part I have the typical stick straight Asian hair. However, while some Asians have silky thin hair, I have coarse thick hair. When I say thick, I mean extremely thick (my ponytails are about 2-3 times the thickness as most of my friends) and when I say coarse I mean coarse (about as coarse as a thin wire). To maintain my hair, I wash every 2-3 days, although lately it has been more every 3 days because I want to grow my hair out. And every time I wash my hair I use conditioner at the roots and a deep conditioning mask at the ends. This is not recommended for most people because using conditioner at your roots and using a deep repair mask with every wash has a tendency to weigh your hair down. I for one, however, need the moisture to weight my hair down so that I don`t have a lions mane. After washing my hair, I also do not use ANY heat (that means no blowdrying, not straightening, no curling) like I said, I am trying to grow my hair out and I do not want to risk any damage. I am content with my straight hair and I never get bored of it. My hair is currently about 2 inches above my belly button from the front and 2 inches above my waist from my back (ALMOST AT MY GOAL!!).
Let me now about your hair care routine in the comments below!
