So, in 2010 i visited Porto for the first time. I went there in a school trip to visit the "palácio da bolsa" or, in english, palace of the stock exchange. Hope i`ve translated right.
You can see it in the last image.
The palace was pretty amazing. A fantastic decoration.
Besides that, i got to meet the historical zone of the city (considered universal patrimony by UNESCO)
The architecture is pretty unique, however, i didn`t like the narrow streets (see picture 1 and 5). They`re pretty to see, but not to live there.
I kept my walk to the waterfront, where there are very cute restaurants, with a nice and cozy decoration (see picture 4)
I also crossed the bridge, which separates Porto from Vila Nova de Gaia, and that passes over the Douro river (see picture 3 and 6).
In the end...
good points - A great architecture! Nice people!
bad points - The city is dirty, mostly on the historical centre; Guides should have others ways to comunicate, cause streets were to narrow for so many people to hear the explanations.
