Virgin Shirley Temples are one of my favorite "mixed" drinks. I used to make them all the time with Sprite, Cranberry Juice, and cherries. Last time I went food shopping with my mom we got the ingredients to make some Shirley Temples! But this time we put a little spin on it. Rather than the regular Shirley Temples I would make when I was younger, we added different ingredients.
Still keeping the Shirley Temples virgin, we took some lemon-lime seltzer and filled up the glass half-way with it. Then we took some regular cranberry juice, and filled up the glass about half-way with that. Then we squeezed a half of lime into the glass and mixed it together. We added an extra lime slice in the drink for a garnish.
Rather than having a super sweet sugary drink, this version was more toned down and had citrus flavors from the lime in it. The lime and cranberry juice mixed really well together and tasted really good. I had my virgin Shirley Temple with my dinner last night.
