A self-sustaining park.
It all started when the owner brought two monkeys of Africa to Portugal and then a cadal lions. So began this park so unlikely. The owner, after being President of the Board and want to bring an attraction to his village, this park was born. With only 30 square meters, accounting for the area has now been acquired, the Maia Zoo has long been the second largest in the country and still achieves the extraordinary feat of being self-sufficient. To this very day of the dedication contributes about 60 employees of the joint. But attraction is not something missing from the zoo.
