This was my dinner last night! I wasn`t in the mood to cook or do anything and after trying to talk my boyfriend into going out to dinner and him saying he wasn`t feeling going out we decided to go to the market. We needed bread and fruit so I was hoping he`d be inspired by something he`d want to make. Originally he wanted taco`s, but I spotted these 16 inch take and bake pizzas at the new grocery store that opened up in our area and asked if he wanted to try that instead. He agreed and I let him pick out the type and he went with the double pepperoni. Double pepperoni simply meant it had circular classic pepperoni on it, as well as chunked pepperoni.
When I unwrapped it when we got home, I threw some frozen green and red peppers on a side of it since I wanted veggies on it. I baked it in a 375 degree oven for only 10 minutes and it was pipping hot and ready to come out of the oven. The box stated cook 12-16 minutes, so I`m glad I checked it or we`d have had a catastrophe in the oven.
I ate mine with some hot banana pepper rings on it, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes and a few drops of hot sauce. I then paired it with a side salad topped with ranch dressing. Great meal! I actually had 2 slices and was stuffed to the max.
Overall it was a good pizza and next time I think I`m going to vouch to try the Supreme! You can`t beat $5.99 for a 16 inch pizza! And in case you are wondering a 16 inch pizza is considered an XL pizza at Papa John`s!
Have you ever purchased a take-and-bake pizza at a grocery chain?
What did you have for dinner yesterday?
