Hi everyone! A couple weeks ago theBalm was having one of their 50% off flash sales where their ENTIRE site is 50% off. These sales only come around a couple times a year so of course I was very excited to get some new products.
Last year`s flash sale was around March and it was a complete mad house. Their servers were bogged down with people so many couldn`t even look at the site, let alone place an order. This year they decided to break it up by time zones: the flash sale would only be for ONE HOUR and whenever it was 12pm to 1pm in your specific time zone would be when the deal would be valid.
Being on the West Coast meant that we would get to the sale pretty much after the rest of the country, but they assured us there was plenty of stock. As everyone more or less predicted, even breaking up the sale by time zone did not help. When it was 12pm here in California, it was 3pm on the East Coast and people were STILL trying to place their orders even though the sale was technically over in their area.
theBalm decided to extend their sale from one hour to 24 hours, and I was able to place my order later. The company also announced on their Facebook page that they were purchasing larger servers to handle all the traffic (which they should have done after last year`s sale) and will be holding another 50% off sale sometime soon.
I was pretty much able to get everything that I wanted, so I`m a happy camper! :D
What I picked up:
>> Mary-Lou Manizer (regularly $24, on sale for $12): Advertised as an eyeshadow, shimmer and highlighter, this is a pretty popular highlighter on YouTube. It`s a light gold highlighter
>> Cindy-Lou Manizer (regularly $24, on sale for $12): A new `Lou manizer` to the bunch, this one is a rosy-peach highlighter/blush.
>> Instain blushes in `Lace,` `Swiss Dot` and `Pinstripe` (regularly $22 each, on sale for $11 each). These came out last year or so and were very popular because they were very pigmented and all of the shades are matte. There are six total shades in the line but I purchased the other three at Kohl`s which came in a special 3 pack for a discounted price which I will post about later. These are designed to look like magazine covers and the packaging features the name`s design around the pan: lace, polka dots and pinstripes.
theBalm just opened their first physical store in San Francisco so Bay Area fans can go and check out their products in person. They also have the custom eyeshadow palettes which are not sold online!
Thanks for reading! Did you buy anything from the theBalm`s flash sale or will you pick something up the next time around?
