Remember to click the pictures for the best clarity & quality (: Hey Luuux! If you`ve been following my posts, you know that I hauled the Sephora Favorites In The Glow Set during the Sephora VIB Sale :D /viz/yet-another-sephora-vib-sale-haul-sephora-glow-set-ren-six-best-set-josie-maran-founda if you want to see that post ^^ Well, I was asked by several of you if I could do a review on the set, and I thought I`d separate it into 3 different parts: Luminizers, Bronzers, and Blushes. I feel that will make things more organized and easier for all of us :) As the title of this post suggest, I`ll be starting off with the luminizers, or highlights, this set has to offer! Keep reading for the full review on all of the ones included int his set! ___________________________________________________________
Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic: This is actually included in the set as a bronzer, but I wanted to include the bottom color of this Shimmer Bloc in the post because I use it as a highlight. -
Size/Amount of Product: 0.14 oz, which is actually a fair amount of product! -
Color & Pigmentation: Be reminded that this is ONLY the bottom color. It`s a pretty warm beige, light-golden color that is decently pigmented. It almost looks as if it has a light-golden base, but has shimmers in it that reflect a pearlescent color. -
Texture & Finish: When first swatched with a finger, it feels a little on the chalky side, but when blended out, it feels much smoother. It`s almost as if it has a satin base with a frost finish. When blended out, it gives a nice healthy sheen on the skin without being too frosty. -
Packaging: Sturdy plastic, very compact and cute. Large enough for a brush to get in and great for travel! It also includes a little mirror, which could be useful if you ever want to check your eye makeup or put in your contacts in a pinch. -
Retail Price: $38 for 0.21 oz of product. -
My Rating:
Benefit High Beam -
Size/Amount of Product: 0.13 oz, which is basically a deluxe sample size. It will probably last quite a long time. -
Color & Pigmentation: Pearlescent pink that comes off very pigmented at first, but sheers out beautifully. It`s a neutral-toned highlighter that leans slightly cool depending on what you might be wearing with it (e.g. blush). When blended out, it reflects much more white/pearlescent than the rest. -
Texture & Finish: Liquid consistency that gives a healthy, dewy finish. It`s a liquid highlight, but isn`t runny by any means; it`s more of a liquidy cream, if you can imagine that. -
Packaging: Nicely sized and very durable bottle with the same convenient brush applicator that the full-size product has. -
Retail Price: $26 for 0.45 oz of product. -
My Rating: , more like a 3.5 only because I`m personally not a fan of liquid luminizers.
bareMinerals All Over Face Color in Pure Radiance -
Size/Amount of Product: 0.02 oz, the least amount of product out of the bunch, but will probably still go a long way considering it`s a loose powder. -
Color & Pigmentation: I`ll definitely have to agree with the official description and say it`s a golden-peach color. This is the most pigmented luminizer of the 4, and is definitely the most shimmery as well. This is one of those products in which a little goes a LONG way. -
Texture & Finish: Very finely milled and swatches & blends very smoothly. When applied generously, it does get very shimmery, but when blended out or applied with a light hand, it gives the perfect warm and natural glow. -
Packaging: Twist-off lid that reveals a plastic sieve. The only con is that this can get very messy. -
Retail Price: $19 for 0.03 oz, so they practically give you a full-size product :D -
My Rating: , but more like a 4.5/5 only because you need to be careful with it.
Lorac Perfectly Lit Oil-Free Luminizing Powder in Spotlight -
Size/Amount of Product 0.106 oz, a decent size. -
Color & Pigmentation: This is a light champagne-beige color with a warm undertone. In the swatches, this is the least pigmented, but brushes pick it up nicely. (This looks more true to color in the first picture, rather than in the individual picture of it.) -
Texture & Finish: The smoothest of the bunch; super silky smooth and feels very high quality. Gives off a very subtle and natural, healthy glow. -
Packaging: Very standard looking snap-closure case, but simple and classic. The plastic is also very sturdy, so travel-friendly, not only for its size but also for its durability. -
Retail Price: $32 for 0.34 oz of product. -
My Rating: , this has to be my favorite of the 4 :) ___________________________________________________________ That`s it for this review! The post was pretty lengthy, but I hope it was helpful to any of you who are in the market for a good luminizer/highlight :D I found that all of the ones included in this set were great quality and could work for anyone! Because they`re mini-sized products, they`re great for travel, and because they came in a value set, you can save a lot of money while allowing yourself to try a bunch of different products :) I`m very pleased with the results of these luminizers, so can`t wait to experiment more with the rest of the products so I can review them for you all! Again, http://www.sephora.com/in-the-glow-set-P376730 to the Sephora set I got these in! Definitely check it out before it leaves Sephora!
Thanks for reading/viewing this review :D I`d love to hear if you`ve tried any of these before, and if so, what you thought of them :) If you haven`t tried any of these, which one most interests you? Leave your comments and/or questions down below!
