3D Printers and its wonders are already old news. But a unit that designs and downloads real food seems to finally bring in a little bit of science fiction films.
The experiments take place in the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan and part of a project of Cornell University. The mechanism that enables software-cooking a cup of tea, a plate of pasta or coverage of a cupcake using syringes filled with ingredients that are being mixed.
The device looks much more like an industrial machine than a printer, and works with raw food - anything with liquid consistency, like chocolate and cream, raw material saw print food fresh. You will be able to easily print a bar of chocolate or a slice of turkey breast, for example.
The project, started in 2005, is open source technology and the willingness of researchers is that it is commercially available in five years.
I`ll have one of these ..
