I tend to have the biggest issue finding shoes. My issues have seemed to slim down some since I`ve lost weight (and my feet shrunk! they even went DOWN a whole size!) but I still have wide width feet. I try to buy medium width shoes, they feel wonderful in store and when I get home and test them out they hurt like heck. There`s a local plus size store, Avenue, that sells shoes under the brand name Cloudwalker. The shoes are geared towards all foot sizes, but one of the great things is they offer wide and sometimes even double wide width shoes. Now, this can get me into trouble, because last time I went in there, they had these black mesh, chunky heeled platforms that somehow came home with me. I also in the past have bought these killer, sexy shoes, but due to a bone spur I have I can`t wear the darn things without wanting to saw my foot off. ANYWAY!
I went into the store looking to find some business type shoes since I was expecting to spruce up my shoe collection because I`ve been going after office type jobs instead of I can wear sneakers to work types of jobs. The store was having a huge sale where you paid the sale price of the first and got the other 50% off. But the greatest part? This sale EVEN applied to clearance! They had these cute little leopard lined flats that I had been eying and almost bought during the winter but wasn`t going to pay nearly $40 for some flats. I nearly squealed with joy when I saw they had my size and they were now $14.95! SCORE!! I then looked around for something else and found these boots -- perfect for the fall/winter months. The only thing I found once I brought them home is the zipper seems to snag. I talked to the girl that works there and she said keep the receipt and when the fall rolls around and I bring these out to wear, if the zipper gives me issues I can return them for my money back. Not a bad deal!
So here`s what I picked up:
- Melinda flats in New Sand. Originally $34.90, I paid $4.01!
- Brooks boots in Black. Originally $46.90, I paid $19.99!
How did I get this shoe for $4.01? The girl manually took a percentage off but I think she made a mistake in her calculation and took a little more than she was supposed to. But score for me!
Do you buy shoes when you see them for a good deal and put them away for that season?
