It wasn`t the best outing from this talented designer. The intimate runway at the High Line Room at the Standard seems promising for seeing the clothes up-close (even from standing), but collection proved to be mixed. The first looks -- oversized boxy, zippered wrap-coats and tops in rust that were suede on the outside and shearling on the inside -- were attractive, and the shape a logical step from a designer who likes to play with proportion. When those shapes turned into gold leather dresses, however, is when things began to veer off course. Wome of them -- like the sleeveless fur-trimmed ones in gold and silver, or printed rust brocade -- were inventive and fun.
