Today`s brunch my boyfriend and I ate at Olive Garden. I originally wanted to go to have one of their lunch specials but sadly the lunch specials are only for the weekdays so we settled with the 2 for $25 special.
What`s cool about Olive Garden is you get unlimited breadsticks though in my opinion the breadsticks aren`t that great - Pat & Oscars breadsticks are #1 in my opinion. My boyfriend and I settled on the Zuppa Toscana Soup which consist of Spicy sausage, russet potatoes and cavolo greens in a creamy broth. We chose this soup because we have tried all the other soups already and it wasn`t that great in my opinion. I was thinking it`d be a nice kick of spicy but the sausage was not spicy and it was more of a ground beef style sausage.
You have an option of getting an appetizer to share or dessert but we chose the appetizer: Bruschetta and Calamari. Thoughts? I was really disappointed because you have to self serve yourself for the bruschetta - I was thinking it would be done and ready to eat when served. The calamari wasn`t crunchy as I thought they would be.
My boyfriend ordered the Spicy Shrimp Vesuvio and I ordered the Five Cheese Ziti al Forno. The portion sizes were huge, we both finished half and to-go the remaining. The food was good just overwhelming.
Thoughts? My boyfriend and I prefer the get to the point "our entrees", the other foods are fillings.
Are you a fan of Olive Gardens? What do you normally order here?
