Well the first half of the season is in the books, and there are alot of surprises. The biggest one is the play of the Pittsburg Pirates. A organization that hasn`t had a winning percentage above .500 in 18 years. The team is on a tear because of Andrew McCutchen and James McDonald. Two young players that are helping the first place Pirates winning. The next surprise is the Washington Nationals. They have taken the NL East over with the help of phenoms Stephen Strasburg and 19 year old Bryce Harper. Not to mention Gio Gonzalez who has 12 wins, what a trade the Nats made this past offseason. The last NL surprise is R.A. Dickey of the Mets. He has 12 wins, which equals his highest total ever in a season. The guy is only at the half way mark, so he should win at least 18 this year. The AL surprises include the play of Mike Trout. This youngest has helped the Angels overcome a terrible start and pull into 2nd place in the AL West. He is the leadoff hitter, and has made the rest of the lineup click. The Orioles are another surprise holding a winning record as of now. They have seen Jason Hammel pitch good, and Adam Jones has been great.
