Sorry this post is late but I was a bit busy. Yesterday was a good day overall for the Caribbean region and it ended on a high note with Grenada`s 19 year old World Champion 400m runner winning the Gold.
There was no way any other runner was going to catch up to him. He ran a solid race and never seemed in danger.
Grenada is the smallest nation to ever win gold which is a great accomplishment. It is their first Olympic medal. I feel happy for them.
Silver went to Luguelin Santos another 19 year old from the Dominican Republic. He ran a very good race too. The Dominican Republic picked up gold and silver yesterday in 2 races so it was a good day for them.
And then FINALLY, my country picked up our first medal for London 2012 with a bronze from Lalonde Gordon. I was so happy because we came close in other events and we didn`t medal (For example cycling). Lalonde made us proud.
He beat his personal best time in all 3 races which means he is just getting faster.
We are going up for the men`s 4X100m relay which we are expected to medal. I can`t wait.
I hope we can get more medals because we got more last time. I know 1 medal may not seem like much but it is for a tiny country like us and we celebrate for other Caribbean islands too.
Anyways, hope you enjoy the rest of the Olympics!
